Lucky for us, no one got blown away on the way to church for this week's meeting! Holy smokes, it was a blast of cold air! What does Father say? The Frozen Chosen.
We had a good discussion about Forgiveness and Charity/Love. These are two virtues that are often the most difficult to practice.
As promised, I will attach a copy of my notes for the lesson. You can read the wisdom of our wonderful Pope Francis and the ever-brilliant C.S. Lewis. Oh, and the list of Four Things that Forgiveness is NOT by Father Dave.
We also spent some time talking about prayer. It is the topic of the portion of the Catechism we were asked to read with this lesson. Yesterday's essay about St. Alphonsus Mary Liguouri in the Magnificat included a beautiful quote from his writings regarding prayer: "Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with him, familiarly and with confidence and love, as to the dearest and most loving of friends." Not bad.
Lesson Seven Notes
I will try and have the guide for the next lesson posted early next week. Now that we're settled back in to my favorite Ordinary Time, I should be able to stick to my schedule.
